VP, Market Research, B2B Consulting

Our client is a boutique market research and growth strategy firm with a focus on Building Products, Home Improvement, Manufacturing, Housewares and Services, and other categories with business models that are complex. Their clients often sell via multiple channels, activate both commercial and consumer strategies, and are forced to service multiple decision makers and influencers, including OEMs, Integrators, Pros, Facilities/Property Managers, Architects/Engineers/Designers, Consumers, etc.

The Role

The VP of Quantitative Research is responsible for client management, designing, and delivering primary, quantitative market research studies. This includes scoping project with client, research design, proposal, supervision of project management and execution, analysis and delivery of report/presentation.

As a Quantitative Market Research Expert, you will:

  • Design and execute quantitative survey and data analysis projects; Understand and apply best practices for sampling and survey writing; Understand when advanced analytics techniques are appropriate and which to recommend (our Ph.D. contractors handle actual analysis)

  • Write clear, insightful, and visually compelling reports that convey strategic insights; Confidently present study findings to clients in-person or virtually

  • Supervise project execution with support from internal team and external vendors; Manage project labor hours and external costs to meet budgets and hit profitability targets

  • Lead project scoping discussions and be involved in proposal development and pitch process

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 12+ years of primary, survey market research experience including project management and client service within a market research provider and/or strategic consultancy.

  • Able to integrate secondary research and qualitative research in proposal and delivery of insights

  • Proven ability to drive research and insights up the value chain into more consultative customer engagements

  • Experience in B2B markets, durable product categories

  • Familiarity with Building & Construction category is a plus

  • Ability to communicate effectively with C-suite level, non-researchers to scope and recommend research approaches and delivery of insights

  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (such as Dapresy, Displayr, Tableau, etc.)

  • Savvy in and passionate about applying technology to improve efficiency

  • Strong visual eye and adept at data visualization (with graphics support)
